When I first obtained a camper van I headed for the highlands of Scotland. I love the mountain regions of the U.K. and I especially love the Scottish wilds. As a bonus you can pretty much camp anywhere as long as you don't obstruct the highway.
These are a collection of moments where the landscape said to me " You need to get a panorama of this!" You know, those moments with a wall to wall epic view! - Explore More U.K.

There is a hugely growing interest in outdoor activities and pursuits in the last ten or so years, maybe longer. I think it is well overdue and good on a number of levels. Obviously, it makes people healthier, but it also raises collective interest in the well being of the earth. I still think, though, that a lot of people, the great majority, in fact, forget about all of the awesome countryside that's right on your doorstep.
The United Kingdom is a very rural country, and most people are pretty lucky to live within a stone throw of green spaces. I'm lucky enough to live in a very rural part of Lancashire named Chorley, its a pretty small town mostly surrounded by countryside. I get outside as much as possible and have done for years, at least 26 at a guess. In all that time the number of times I've bumped into people that I know whilst wandering locally is minimal, most people don't bother venturing out into the wilderness around them. They forget how fun it is to be outside, and free!
Get out there! Go explore, you never know what you may find! I know for a fact that you won't regret it, and look what you're missing!
All of the photos in this gallery are taken within my home borough of Chorley in Lancashire, England. Most are taken within a half hour walk from its town centre.
All of the photos in the galleries that follow are made up of the moments that made me stop and think, that I was glad to be there, right then, at that particular moment.
There's always plenty of wildlife to see as well. You just have to be still, listen and take it all in... The local park in Chorley 'Astley Park' always has a treat or two concerning wildlife. The picture of the bird nesting on a lily-pad is a 'Little Grebe' and isn't something i expected to see nesting in a busy local park. A Wallaby on the end is a pet of a local eccentric. It always made me chuckle when I passed their enclosure.
Don't forget about the plant life as well! I always seem to find something that I have either never seen before, or something that even though I have seen it before still makes me have to stop and take a look. The vast array of greenery I see in the U.K. is awesome, we are very lucky to live in a very green part of the world. During the summer this country is very lush.
It doesn't matter where you are, if you want to see some pretty cool stuff all as you have to do is wander within 15 minutes of your house and i guarantee you will find something that fills you with awe. Nature is an amazing thing, it always finds a way, even in the most built up of areas you will find nature trying to reclaim its place.
