I saw this protest pinned in someone's car during the run-up to the royal wedding of William and Kate in 2011. The royal family have been doing a lot of P.R. in the last few years, using the young princes as the new 'we're just like you' image. Doesn't look as though it worked with this individual.
When travelling around Scotland's highland areas, you can expect to see sights such as this all over the place! This photo was taken whilst on a camper van tour in 2012.
The shop has stood empty since December when it closed along with more than 800 other Woolworths stores across the country. Another casualty of 2008 financial crisis.
Chorley is definitely a town in trouble. I found all of these closed shops in the town centre. It's improved a little bit , but i've noticed another spate of closures again recently. More parking dudes, and make it free. problem solved.

The Dovecote Tower, commonly known as the Pigeon Tower, stands at the northwestern edge of the Terraced Gardens. The Tower was built in 1910 by Lord Leverhulme as part of his extensive Rivington estate. The first two floors were home to ornamental doves and pigeons, whilst at the top was a small sitting room that was used as a lookout over the boating lake, and by Lady Lever as a sewing and music room.
This is definitely the best location in Chorley, by a mile.
The Bradley Wiggins commemorative postbox has been here for six years, and I just decided to photograph it. I couldn't decide what to say, and I still can't.
This is the summit of rivingtom pike. The beacon on top was built in 1139 by Ranulph de Blundeville, 4th Earl of Chester after being invaded and defeated near Clitheroe by a larger Scottish force. It was lit in 1588 to signal that the Spanish armada was on its way!
I sat and watched this guy trying to get back into his boat for around twenty minutes before someone came to his rescue. Every time he pulled the boat upright it went all the way over to the other side. So funny to watch! This was taken at Jumbles Reservoir - it lies in Jumbles Country Park, in the valley of Bradshaw Brook, partly in the Metropolitan Borough of Bolton, Greater Manchester, and partly in Blackburn with Darwen, Lancashire.
